ABOUT JOAN HOLUB

Joan Holub is the author and/or illustrator of over 120 books for children.

She illustrated Hot Cha Cha in New York City, where she enjoyed many exciting parks

and playgrounds. Slides, jump ropes, bikes, and wordplay are some of her favorite things.

Hot Cha Cha is Joan’s first book with Gingerbread House.

Ms. Holub graduated from college in Texas, then freelanced as an Art Director at a graphic design firm for 8 years. She dreamed of working in children's books, and so she moved to New York City and became an Associate Art Director at a major publishing house,  designing books for children, and working with editors and illustrators. She illustrated her first published children's book in 1992, and soon began illustrating full time. Joan now writes and paints full time, creating books that entertain, inform, and interest children.
